Being a newly working mom, I’m constantly looking to make the most of the time I do spend with the littles. If I’m lucky, I get 30 minutes in the morning and 2 hours before bedtime to engage with, love on, and soak in every ounce of my kids’ cuteness (and toddlerness) during the week. Chores often get pushed aside on the weekend for family time. The dust bunnies can wait, right?
It’s been particularly cold lately. To put it in better context: we are looking forward to temps in the mid-30s. Instead of staying cooped up at home today, we ventured out to shop for fresh, local foods and let the kids play.
The bad thing about Ohio winters: single-digit temperatures. The good thing: Ohioans don’t let that stop the fun.
The Worthington Farmer’s Market is one of the best in Central Ohio and (bonus!) is year-round. Hosted in the Worthington Mall, it offers baked goods, seasonal produce, meat, eggs, flowers, crafts and so much more. We find something new every time we go. The market runs from 9-12am and is less of shopping trip than a weekly event.
I’ve never been there when there wasn’t live music that even allows the kids to participate. The indoor playground is always a hit with my 2.5 year old. In one morning, we can do some shopping at the mall stores and market vendors, play and listen to live music as a family, and the kiddos burn some energy. It’s an all-around win and never gets old.
